Use Texture Sampler nodes for the downloaded PNG files and keep data textures separate from color-managed albedo.

Generate PBR materials for Cinema 4D and Redshift
twirl creates a standard metalness and roughness texture set for look development in Cinema 4D. Connect the maps to Redshift Standard Material or OpenPBR inputs and adjust scale for the object and shot.
Map the texture set into Redshift
Use albedo for Base Color, metallic for Metalness, and roughness for reflection roughness. Route the normal through the Redshift bump or normal workflow. Redshift expects OpenGL normals by default.
Drive Base Color, Metalness, and reflection roughness with the matching maps. Use normal and height only at strengths appropriate to the asset scale.
Roughness and metalness become clear through reflections. Review the material under representative HDRI or area lighting before approval.
Materials for Cinema 4D look development
Try these surfaces on simple UV-mapped geometry, then tune roughness, bump strength, and texture scale for the final render.
Frequently asked questions
Do twirl materials work with Redshift?
Yes. Connect the separate PNG maps to matching Redshift Standard Material or OpenPBR inputs.
Which normal map orientation does Redshift use?
Redshift expects OpenGL normal maps. If a DirectX map is used, the Bump Map node can flip the normal Y channel.
Is a Cinema 4D plugin available?
Not yet. A Cinema 4D integration is coming soon. Manual Redshift setup works now.
